We looked at a few areas in calculated fields – reviewing how Tableau deals with aggregating fields in calculations, addressing the issue where we cannot compare aggregated data with non-aggregated data. We talked about aggregating a dimension to overcome this and also using an LOD to overcome this. We also looked at how to enter a specific date in a calculated field using #.
We also talked about how we could use Tableau Public to publish dashboards to help address the most common FOI’s (Freedom of Information requests). One way to reduce ad-hoc requests and reduce time demands.
We also looked at correcting ratio & percentage calculations when they don’t provide the correct results.
We spent some time reviewing the 90 day focus planner and how to use it – from Module 9.
